THE PROCESS

Bringing Banks Botanicals to life

We distil each ingredient individually to ensure the flavours and essences are captured in their purest forms.

Botanicals

We start in the bush with the careful selection and curation of each of our botanicals. These plants must be of the finest quality and organic so we can best capture the aromatic flavours and aroma each botanical represents.

Water is our key ingredient

We use Yarra Valley water from fresh mountain sources. Our water contributes to our high quality.

The Still

The still is then filled with water and Botanicals and heated at different temperatures depending on the type of botanical.

The Still

As the water heats up ,the vapours and aromas of the Botanicals are carried upwards and extracted.

The vapour captures the flavours

Some botanicals are distilled in our copper baskets, As the vapour passes through these more delicate botanicals , it catches and carries the beautiful botanical aroma.

The Vapours

For our limes, we use vapour infusion. The vapour steams the limes as it passes and this, in turn, releases the limes’ aromatic flavour.

Infused Vapour

The infused vapour moves to the condensing column where the copper starts to cool and turns the vapour to botanical-infused liquid.

Blending

The 5 individual Botanical distillations are then expertly blended to create Banks Botanicals

Our method takes time and care. And even though there are speedier ways to distil, we are unhurried because we want to capture the best from our Botanicals to create the textural depth and complexity that only Banks can offer.
